This year, LOOPBARCELONA will be focusing on production as an open process,
allowing for a debate on the current situation of creation and the reception of art film
and video, as well as to analyse the impact of technology on the perception and
development of individuals. Both of these dimensions point to production as a stage of continuous creation in which, rather than stable contexts and entities, we are in fact
immersed in a complex moving system whose interactions and forces can be felt in
social crises, environmental challenges or in the economic organisation of
globalisation. Focusing on production allows us to analyse artistic work as a space
shared by various disciplines and traversed by agents that go far beyond familiar roles
or distribution channels. A collector is a producer, and an artist is a hybrid creator
whose works are the results of research and collaborations. It is in this context that LOOPFESTIVAL will display a series of exhibitions, performances and programs that
will delve further into production as a transformative phase, from thought to form,
from the individual to the collective.

“We urge the visitor to discover this exhibition and to interact with the works there, for these are profound pieces with a powerful psychological component that fuse the figural and abstract worlds, most of them in black (dark drama) and white (purity).”
